Good design makes functional objects beautiful.

A Jones Leather bag isn’t just a bag, its a lifetime companion. Each piece begins with the highest quality full-grain leather which has been carefully selected by Mark. The brass fittings, lining fabrics and even the threads are chosen for their strength and longevity, ensuring that every detail stands the test of time.

Mark crafts each bag himself, in his studio, drawing on over four decades of experience. Every design has been refined, every bag built to age beautifully. This is pure craftsmanship: deliberate, patient and enduring.

When you choose a Mark Jones bag, you’re investing in skill and heritage that will last for decades.

Who is Mark Jones?

Mark Jones is a professional leather craftsman and designer. What was a high school hobby for pocket money became his occupation.

In the late 80's after his foray with a successful shop in Newcastle, Mark moved to Sydney. He studied shoemaking at Sydney TAFE and Art/Drawing at East Sydney Tech before re-launching his work with all new designs.

He was one of the first awarded a "Craftmark" by the Craft Council of Australia and went on though their events and promotion to send work to German Design Fairs and go with his work to the San Francisco Gift Fair. He became instrumental in placing other Craftspeople into U.S trade shows, setting up a joint venture with Austrade between 2000 and 2004.

In 2005 researching trade show in Europe he continued his design studies in Italy.

His involvement with T'Arts Collective in Adelaide, SA, is as a member and he is involved in annual themed exhibition.

He loves finding new directions in the ever expanding area of design in leather and finding new ways to make them. He always refers to the traditional skills and work at honing them.
